Brain-Guts Axis, microbiom and photobiomodulation
The Gut Microbiota and Systemic Conditions
The microbiome and microbiota and their effects on the development of diseases have become very topical in the last decade.
This presentation will define the microbiome, microbiota and microbes, and consider where they exist in the body.
Specific emphasis will be placed on the gut microbiome and its effect on the brain. Lastly, the potential influence of photobiomodulation on the microbiome will be considered with a presentation of the early evidence of its effects in mice and humans.
At the end of this presentation, listeners should have an increased understanding of the microbiome as (perhaps) “the last human organ”.
